Bangladesh Gets Converted Irrigation Pumps

bangladeshpumps.jpg

A new solar powered irrigation pump has been built in the Kaishar Char village in Savar, Bangladesh. Rahimafrooz Renewable Energy Limited converted a 10HP diesel pump and says that it will save up to 760MW of electricity and 800 million liters of diesel in a year. While the company admits building it was not inexpensive, they also claim it will last for the next 20 years. They plan on installing more throughout the country and have already sold 10 to government and nongovernmental organizations.
