SEIA Calls For Solar Bill of Rights

Rhone Resch, President and CEO of the US Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), spoke at the General Session of Solar Power International 2009 last week and called for a solar bill of rights. Included in his speech are these rights:

  • to install solar power.
  • to connect solar energy systems to the main grid with uniform national standards.
  • to feed in taxes and payments of at least the retail value for any electricity
  • exported to the main grid.
  • Equal access to public lands.
  • to interconnect and build new transmission lines.
  • for consumers to buy solar electricity from their electricity company.
